Diocesan Announcement

After much thought, prayer and discernment with Fr. Greg Bonin, Spiritual Advisor, the hierarchy of the Catholic Women's League of Canada and with our own Bishops, I am CANCELLING the 100th Anniversary Celebration and Convention of the Catholic Women's League of Canada, London Diocese. The event was to happen April 27 - 29, 2020 at the John D Bradley Convention Center, Chatham, ON.

The London Diocesan Executive, London Diocesan Life Members along with the 100th Anniversary Convention Committee hope to be able to reschedule this momentous event after the CoVid-19 virus is under control. With our aging membership, it is not in the best interest of our ladies to continue. For those of you who have already registered for the convention, the registration committee will be in touch with you over the next few weeks. Please know that refunds will be sent as soon as possible after our committee meeting. If you do not hear from them within 30 days, please contact me.

Elections: Please continue to send your instructed votes to Angela Pellerin by the required deadline. I am waiting for direction from National Council on how to proceed with elections.

Resolutions: I am working with OPC President Colleen Perry for the resolution currently proposed for 2020.

Parish Council meetings and activities: given that the Ontario Public Health department is recommending that gatherings be cancelled or postponed, it is my recommendation that your executive along with your Spiritual Advisor consider the implications of continuing such events and meetings and make a decision that best suits your community.

Please continue to be very diligent in handwashing techniques and frequencies, coughing and sneezing into your elbow, and contact with other. Please remember this virus is spread through contact...droplets specifically.. This virus is very progressive to those with compromised immune systems (including myself).

May Our Lady of Good Counsel continue to guide us, and pray for us and all of God's people to the end of this crisis.
